The intersection of food, art, and alchemy. Through their arts collective The Bottega, William Pettit and Candice Smith Corby share a passion for the rediscovery of the making, use, and implementation of ancient artist materials and their reintroduction into contemporary art-making. Their fascination with natural materials and how they relate to culinary ingredients have led them to develop The CookBook of Secrets, named for the medieval Books of Secrets featuring color and alchemical texts. The exhibition will share poetic pigment recipes with a Mediterranean influence and how their personal artwork is influenced by these intersections.
